memory knows.  Time forces me to lead,

drift toward eternity, guiding with heart,

a patient beat, as my toes graze the floor.

Breath connects Time like pages

clamped and set aside for the pile.

Sleep twelve hours.  Wake up, get dressed,

Buy lox, scrape dough out of a bagel, sleep.

Dream he is alive, occupy his room.  Touch

The cold sheet.  The curtain hugs a window

Sunshine milks through. Cast bait into the light,
